I am a list of undone tasks...

I finally went to the gym last night. It's been like 3 weeks since I last went I think. I have generally been out of shape...I mean, I've played ball a few times but nothing really to talk about. But dude, it's weird, I totally felt like I didn't know what I was doing last night. I tried to lift too much on the bench w/o a spotter and almost threw out my back trying to get the stupid bar back up to the rack, I forgot how my workout went, a whole bunch of stuff. I looked like a freakin workout rookie. It was pretty funny though, when I imagine how I must've looked. At least I was back in the gym. Hopefully, this is a sign of times to come. Tonight is hi-low impact aerobics...and for all you who think aerobics is easy, try it...it's a lot harder than one might think.

So our annual review is coming up for work, and first, we have to do a self-appraisal thingy. Basically, it's us doing a review of our work over the past fiscal year. Now, of course one does not want to score himself perfectly because then they will think you believe you have no room for improvement and that you're probably an overzealous you-know-what. And then if you score yourself low, you're just give them more reason not to bump you up at all, plus they'll think they can use you like a puppet because, well, you have all this room to improve. Nonetheless, it must be done. I am pretty confident in knowing what areas I need improvement in, I just need to back it up, he he he. And away we go...

I am an angry cartoon caricature...

Drunk on the Hatorade...
I don't understand how Bill Plasche is an Laker beat-writer for the LA Times when all that guy does is hate on the Lakers. I mean, dude, I know they pretty much suck this season but dude, it's a freakin rebuilding year, as if it wasn't obvious enough. People are just haters...and it shows even more evident when people just talk negative. I haven't heard anything positive from this guy since they were pretty much on top, which shows what a band-wagonner he is. He was writing somethin about how Sunday was his last game as a Laker fan. Well, his arse probably got fired for being such a hater...good riddance. But even that, I'm not sure of. It's been annoying all year with everyone putting the blame on Kobe on why Shaq left, and I don't even wanna go on that tirade again, except that people forget that Shaq for as long as he was with LA, was ALWAYS fat and out of shape, and did things how he wanted...how come everyone seems to forget that? ...enough said...

So this weekend, Team Sore Knees will probably be taking its second long distance run. The first was not that long of a distance, and it was about 2 weeks ago(no one ran on Easter). But yeah, hopefully, we'll get a good long run in. This is my un-official declaration that I am going to train for the LA Marathon this year. Note that it is not even an unofficial declaration that I will RUN the marathon, merely the training for it...he he he. It'll be difficult trying to train, and lift, and still play ball...so we'll have to see how it all goes. Basketball and long-distance training are not really a highly recommended mix, but it isn't forbidden, so I'll just hope and pray.

Damn, I'm at work late today...I guess that makes up for all the times I was at work ummm...not-so-late. Damn equilibrium!!!

I am an open sea...

Today is one of those days where I'm totally singin that Alan Jackson song, "It's Five O'clock Somewhere" over and over in my head. For the first time in a while, I have hit a slow slow spell. And I'm pretty sure it's not because I have nothing to do, because that definitely isn't the case, he he he. Just one of those days when you don't feel like working at all, and things are totally slow for some reason, even amidst the busy atmosphere. It might be because Cic and I just got back from the bay area only last night, or the weather, or it could be just one of those lulls. Nevertheless, it sucks when these times come upon me, because it really just drives me nuts...grrrr

Anyway, so SF was awesome. Thanks again to Jennie and Wainwright for lettin Cic and me crash, and to Reegan and Val for takin us around on Saturday. Oh and to Nam for havin suppa with us on our way back home, he he he. We got to have Clam Chowda at the Wharf, shopped at Union Square and Haight-Ashbury, and even got to ride the BART for the first time. That thing is pretty cool, just sucked that we were at the very end going to the opposite side, which took about an hour. But it was cool..we didn't have to drive and sit in traffic or anything. For the whole drive up and drive down, cic and I just talk talk talked...but there were times where we weren't even talking and it was just chill. It was like nice quiet time, I wasn't bored or anything, we were just being quiet, zoning out into our own little warpmed minds, he he he. Good road trip man, good show!

Oh yeah, general pest inspection this morning(Of course in an 8-10 window, they show up almost at 10...), no major problems...but termites...definitely gonna be a problem. I don't really need an inspector to tell me that on Wednesday, just gotta figure out how big of a problem they're gonna be...

I am an almost-exploding head...

I've been feeling under the weather ever since I came back from my trip out east. One of the Japanese engineers riding with us was sick and we spent the whole week test-driving around, so I was fightin it off all week. I should've brought that Airborne stuff with me, I heard it works wonders. On saturday, I got the biggest migraine, my first since I was suffering from chronic migraine attacks a little after graduation. It was horrible... ever since Sat, I've just been coughing, I've been totally congested, and the pressure in my head...it's enormous. I get all hot easily and...well, it's just not fun to be me right now. Of course, to keep things in perspective, it could be a lot worse...so I shouldn't complain too much. I think things have been on the mend little by little with each passing day, so hopefully, I'll be 100% by tomorrow, when Cic and I go up north.

Nothin much to really catch up about...cleaned my room, kinda...found termites in it. I actually thought I had solved the problem before, but I guess not. I called Terminix, and i have a termite inspection scheduled for next week. They also suckered me into having a general pest control inspection. Apparently, one doesn't check for termites the same way one checks for regular pests. Well, at least they're both free. The only problem with the other general inspection is that they'll probably come up w/ something like, "you have a potentially bad situation dealing with pharoah ants..." and then propose some expensive extermination system for them. I just wanna get rid of those damn termites man. Let's see, what else...yeah, nothin really. How sad, the most interesting thing goin on in my life is termites...

pardon me while I fix this noose....

I am time being juggled....

Well, here I am...no longer in Ohio, but now in Chicago. I was totally confused yesterday because my cell and my watch are both on Pacific time, and when I got into Ohio, it was eastern time. We drove out to Chicago and it's Central over there. So I'm tryin to figure out 3 different times...I didn't know whether to be tired or what...it was too funny.

Differences, subtle and not so much...
It's pretty interesting how different things can be in the same country. The ads out here are more blunt. I saw a sign that said, "Save yourself from Hell, repent, Trust jesus today." The message is pretty clear. Out in Cali, people would probably protest a sign like that if it were posted up. We kinda just tippy toe around everything in a state like cali, everything's about PC and not offending people...almost knda makes me think taht we actually DON'T have total freedom of speech back home. hmmm...

They have Carl's JR out here but it'ss called Hardees, but supposedly it's not the exact same thing. They use the same exact happy star dude, I don't think it can be different. Or someone's doin somethin illegal. Anyway, we didn't get a chance to go in, so I don't know if it really IS different or not.

Old Friends
One of the cool things about being in Chicago so far is that I got to hang out w/ my old buddy Cat! She showed me 'round her hood...we got some Gino's pizza and then we kicked it at the John Hancock Center at the bar/lounge up on the 96th floor. She knows this area pretty well man. Well, I guess after being here for a while, that'll happen. I felt like I was being taken around town by a local. We didn't really get drinks at the bar cuz 1) I can't drink until after Easter and 2) she didn't really feel like drinkin anyway. So we just got a couple of hot choc's and hung out. We talked for a long time. Got a chance to catch up on everything over the past few years. I didn't realize she's been here in Chicago for three years now...and I haven't really seen her for 2 years. Crazy how time flies. But it always makes me feel good to know that distance and time have not really caused us to drift apart. Everyone has things to do, they have places to go, and it just all depends on the foundation of your friendship. I'm sure for every friendship that has held strong, there are several that have gone by the wayside...but hey, that's life.

What the?!?!?
I almost forgot about this. I recently have been thinking that I have run into a little spell of bad luck, due to a number of reasons. Anyway, get this...At the Hilton Garden Inn in Chicago, my room was 1313. And I was like what the?!?!?! And I guess I need to go into more detail here because I thought it was implied but apparently, as Cic pointed out, there are many reasons as to why this could be my room number. Anyway, it's on the THIRTEENTH floor!!! What the?!?!? I was IM'ing with Chris and he was like, dude, get another room, he he he. And yes it was labeled the 13th floor and it actually was. Because there was a conference room that we were meeting in and it was on the 12th floor. Krikey man. And THEN, when I hung out with Cat, while we were waiting for our elevator to go back down to the 1st floor, I was the 13th person in line. WHAT THE!?!?!?!? And earlier today when we were driving, while I just randomly thinking aobut this whole 13 thingy, we pass by 1300 N Michigan Ave. WHAT THE?!?!?! Maybe I should ben on the thirteenth seeds or something, ha ha ha. We'll see....

I am a gust of wind...

Man, what a busy week. I have seriously been doing a million things every day at work, multi-tasking, and just workin my lil tail off. And with 1 1/2 hrs left in the workweek, I am taking a deep breath and chillin. I finally finished everything I needed to do, met my deadlines, and now am taking a well-deserved break. Heck I could leave early, but I won't. There are still a few loose ends to tie up here before I head out on my trip next week.

Where everybody knows your name
So many good times

I had so many memories in that place. So many drinks, so many, good times. 2 for 1 fries...pitchers of beer. Drinking with friends after class, midterms, finals, even before midterms and finals, haha ha. Raggaefest...oh man. A moment of silence please....an Era has just ended....

junk for sale
So if it's against the law to dispose of most types of electronic equipment, why is it so hard to find a place to get rid of it? I have all this old stuff, cordless phones, tv, etc that I've been trying to get rid of. And being somewhat environmentally conscious I am aware that these devices cannot be thrown in any old trash because they carry certain amounts of toxic chemicals. So of course I try to look for a way to get rid of them, and it seems so complicated. Sheesh, if we want the world to be a cleaner and better place, we had better find a way to make all this stuff simpler. Why would I pay to get rid of this stuff? It's freakin ridiculous man.

Did you know?
...The voices of Miss Piggy, Grover, and Yoda are all done by the same guy?

Anyway, like I said, it's been a crazy busy week, and a lot of the stuff I've been wanting to write about has not really materialized just yet...so here are things to come:

aerobics
tardiness
and "the drawer"

I'm off to Ohio and Chicago next week folks...so I'll see you on the other side...

I am a pat on the back...

food
I remember a conversation that I had with Lou(Lavarro, not Ferigno, he he he, which would be tough anyway, considering his circumstances, in that he is not physically here on earth) a few months back. Lou eats very healthily...and one of the reasons for that is becuase he sees eating as a chore. That was so funny to me. Becuase I could never see it that way...to me, lunch is like party time for my stomach. A couple of weeks ago, I had a peanut butter and jelly samich for lunch like 3 days in a row, and I was thinkin to myself, I'd almost rather not eat lunch anymore than have to do this everyday. I look forward to meals...which is probably why I can't be healthy and buff like Lou is.

Woohoo
Today at our employee meeting, I got a special recognition award. It always feels nice to be noticed for the work you do at...well...work, he he he. Kinda cool to know that your work is observed and recognized. Seems like everyone's been gettin good news today. See Cicely's blog..
